Flow labs is a editor make phaificly for 2D games, we talked earlier about how it would be best to make a 2D game,(due to our time restraints. Flow labs was a very easy to use application with simple and concrete code. My main two jobs for this project was (self appointed) Level designer and art director. In level designer I need to now how the physics of the game would work so I work very close with Eoghan to ensure the level layout would complement the games play style. I was challenged here because I needed to balance the level so it was still enjoyable to play but it wasn’t to easy that when you won it would feel like an achievement. The game was to be set in a tree, and depict an apple help sir Issac newton discover gravity by hitting his head. I looked at other games to see how they tackled the level layout. I looked at games like the legend of Zelda a timeless classic. The game its self wasn’t a platform so I wasn’t sure if I could take much inspiration from it but I found it helpful due to seeing all the different obstacles in links way. The game that helped the most was DK or Donkey Kong the layout of that game as you might be able to tell greatly inspired me in the layout.

The second stage of creation was great I found it very enjoyable. I stated before that we split up all the work in even chunks. I started testing all the platforms that would allow us to do this in the allocated time that we had. I decided that it was best not to code it from scratch in something like python or java as that would take too long. I started to look at platforms that would do the bulk of the coding for us, and allow me to code my simple means. I the end I was stuck between two browser editors called gamer maker 3d and flow labs.
Game maker 3d as the name implies is a 3d game editor. I know before in the last blog I said that making a 3d game would seem like too much work I found the program very easy to use and showed puritanical.
After a discussion we decided that flow labs was the better chose.

While in that game the objective to to get to the top. In our game it is to get to the bottom. I found a similar format work very well and it made it into the final product.
Once we knew now the level was going to look I needed to create all the right and textures that would be needed for the map layout. I did this by drawing the assets in the block editor built into the program.
The game was to be set in a tree, and depict an apple help sir Issac newton discover gravity by hitting his head.
